Strand Beach

Located on North Strand 1, Strand Beach enjoys overarching views of the Headland, coastline, and Catalina beyond with direct stair access to the beach. In the proposed design, we incorporate subterranean parking with the entry approach/landscaping to increase the perceived open space and provide relief to the street. Juxtaposed rooflines shape the entry and begin to reveal the sweeping nature of the bluff elevation that curves toward Headland Rock. Upon entry, the open floor plan and high ceilings draw the spectacular ocean view through the home with large expanses of operable doors and windows that blur the line between indoor and outdoor living. Clean modern lines are balanced with simple, warm materials. Although the home is characterized by a modern architecture, we feel the warmth of materials and creative open spaces foster a timeless appeal for this family home within the Strand community.
