The Goal: To explore the question of whether an ultra-luxury hotel can help define a city’s sense of place. We say yes! To find this answer, we crafted an exclusive 90-room boutique hotel that embraces the slope of Dana Point’s coastline, ensuring sweeping ocean views from every room while providing a premier destination for relaxation and gatherings.
The Details: The hotel integrates thoughtfully planned event spaces for conferences, weddings, dining, and wellness, offering seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor experiences. Every element is designed to enhance guests’ connection to the coastal setting.
The Materials: Natural stone, smooth-coat stucco, tongue-and-groove wood, cast-in-place concrete, and metal accents form a restrained, modern palette that blends in with the built environment while bringing about a new age of hospitality.
